![]() When the board sets policies, monitors the general manager’s performance, approves the budget and work plan, or provides risk oversight, they work in the best interest of the collective membership of LCEC. As fiduciary - the LCEC trustees are entrusted to act for the benefit of the LCEC members. ![]() To ensure these responsibilities are met, board members take on three fundamental roles – fiduciary, regulator, and advocate. The board of trustees are responsible for directing the affairs and ensuring the long-term financial health of the cooperative. These trustees serve a three-year term and elections are held each spring before the annual meeting. The 2000 census found 3,945 people in the township.Our seven board members, who live right here in our service territory, are democratically elected by active members. ![]() Washington Township is 1 of the 17 townships of Logan County, Ohio. The southern part of Indian Lake is located in northern Washington Twp. The village of Russells Point is located in northern Washington Twp., and the unincorporated community of Lewistown lies in the township's center. The original school was in Lewistown and holds the distinction of being the first public school north of the Greenville Treaty Line in 1833. Indian Lake Schools is in Washington Township and “Laker Pride” is seen in abundance. Washington Township residents enjoy a beautiful park, the protection of our Police Department, well maintained roads and cemeteries, and zoning laws enforced by its own zoning inspector. Today, we are fortunate to have jobs held by many township residents who work at both large and small area businesses. Washington Township, founded in 1839, is a rural, agricultural community that offers open space, farm lands, and residential property for growing families and farms.
